ClASSIC YOGA

We offer the most classic form of Traditional Yoga, which gives high importance to a healthy, calm and strong fine life. Practice is supported by a strong health support and treatment system by teachers who are traditional healers. The practice of yoga is associated with spinal activation of the inner eye, mostly known as Laya yoga. The word yoga means unity. It is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead to a sense of peace and well-being and a sense of oneness with their environment. Yoga combines physical exercise, mental meditation and breathing techniques to strengthen the muscles and relieve modern lifestyle stress. Following the path of Ashta-Angaas of yoga 1.yama 2.niyama 3.aasana 4.pranayama 5.prathyaahara 6.dhyana 7.dhaarana 8.samadhi.

Yoga also plays a great part in post-injury life. Yoga and meditation are closely linked with the latter part of kalaripayattu training to upgrade a student to a master who is a Spiritual Warrior or Spiritual Healer.

KalariYogi Approach

At KalariYogi we practise classic yoga for the wellness of body and mind. Practice touches the knowledge of Hata, kundalini, bhakthi, raja yoga, breathing and other knowledge is passed through the safe hands of tradition mixed with remedies for modern challenges, Yoga abhyasa (Exercise) and sthitilikarana vyayama (warm up exercises which prepare your body and mind to begin yoga).

Kalariyogi is one among the few existing schools which support the practitioner through the four Krama/divisions of Yoga practice.

1.     Shikshana Krama (Learning Stage) — where the foundational principles and postures are taught.

2.     Shakthi Krama (Strengthening Practice) — focusing on enhancing the practitioner's strength and vitality.

3.     Rakshana Krama (Maintenance Stage) — aimed at sustaining the health and harmony of the body and mind.

4.     Chikithsa Krama (Treatment Stage) — therapeutic applications of yoga that address the specific health needs which naturally arise throughout a human lifetime.
